PEN PAL

Connect & Create!

Think Aloud Pen-pal Program was formed in addition to three other programs of the organization. This program compliments our reading, writing, and communication activities that are already part of our recreation program.

Communication

Through the exchange of letters and experiences, children not only learn about diverse cultures but also develop essential communication skills, empathy, and a sense of global citizenship.

Impact

Young minds blossom as they forge global friendships, broaden their perspectives, and cultivate empathy, fostering a brighter, more interconnected future.

Adventure

The Think Aloud Pen Pal Program serves as a bridge, sparking curiosity, promoting cultural understanding, and cultivating lasting friendships.

Creativity

Occasionally, drawings can substitute written letters in the correspondence. This creative alternative not only adds a visual element to their communication but also provides an avenue for expression.

Connect & Create!

The Pen-pal Program was launched during a Back-to-School Bash event that was hosted by Crystal Palace Banquet Hall in Guyana South America in July 2023. There, the families in attendance learned about our organization and were given opportunity to register their 5–11- year-old children to participate in writing letters to the 5–11-year-old children registered in our program in the USA.

In August 2023, Think Aloud volunteers started communicating with 16 children in Guyana, and still exchanges one letter per month, per child. This exchange allows children to share childhood experiences and concurrently understand life in some parts of the world.

Our Board Members met and concluded that our currently registered families be allowed opportunity to participate in the Pen-pal program.

Distance can't dim the brightness of our friendship!
